These guys (there are only two) have some serious talent:
Even if you’re not a Michael Jackson fan, (or are one and hated this performance) I bet you found the presentation remarkable.
If you’re a blogger, you do a similar presentation every day. No matter the numbers associated with your blog, you play many roles in its production. You’re the writer, the editor, the accountant, the intern, the messenger, and you often labor with little visible return.
That’s impressive. Be impressed with yourself. I’m impressed with you!
I have a tendency to rant and rave about how we all need to improve our writing and focus on providing value to our community. I still think there’s a lot we can all do to improve our work. However, it’s a good idea to occasionally step away from the plow and enjoy a cold glass of lemonade in a shady spot.
I’d like to step away from the plow for a bit. Do you have a shady spot you’d recommend? Perhaps you’ve published an article on your blog that you’re happy with and would be willing to share?
I’d like you to do two things:
- Tell me what your favorite role is in the production of your blog.
- Include a link in your comment to an article that you’d like me to read and comment on.
I’ll not post again on this blog until I’ve read and commented on your article. Fair enough?
Have a great day!

INCREDIBLE VIDEO! I had chills the entire time. Watching things like this makes me feel invincible. I love it.
1. Tell me what your favorite role is in the production of your blog.
My favorite part is coming up with ideas to write about. I’m still a novice blogger and need to ramp up content creation, but I like idea generation the best. It’s fun and never-ending.
2. Include a link in your comment to an article that you’d like me to read and comment on.

ok mate you asked for it.
1. Tell me what your favorite role is in the production of your blog.
Satisfying someone else’s need. I see lots of people asking questions about seo, social media, wordpress and all that jazz. I get super satisfaction out of addressing that problem and being able to refer back to it again and again to help them and others out. Now I just wish I could get paid and help more:).
2. Have a read at some of my mate Jim’s stuff. You might like it.

Enjoy the lemonade and the shade.
Thank you for such a creative post. I enjoyed this analogy between video and blog production. Loved reading the comments above as well.
1) Favorite role: Participation. The downright amazing people I write about are leading causes and changes that I was involved in. They have pressed on against unbelievable odds. True heroes.
2) Link: The story of Eric De La Cruz, and his sister Veronica’s campaign on Twitter: http://www.e-advocate.org
Their experience changed thousands online.
Enjoy the summer shade.
Well, seems like you could blog in the shade with your lemonade as long as you have wireless and are careful not to spill…….

The writing. I’m a newbie blogger, but I love love having an outlet for all of the random musings bouncing around in my head! Now they have somewhere to go, and hopefully be enjoyed….
2.Include a link in your comment to an article that you’d like me to read and comment on.
This was hard for me to choose just one…..so I didn’t…..I just couldn’t…..

Incredible video. Wow – thanks for sharing it. While this was clearly a practiced arrangement it has me thinking that comments are to a blog post what improvisation is to a jazz ensemble. There is a core theme and structure yet you never know quite where it is going to go from there. I love that about blogging.
1) Favorite role: Writing. Through blogging. I have discovered just how much I love to write. I wonder if I would enjoy it as much though if I didn’t have such amazing people comment and add richness to whatever I am writing about so a close second would be facilitator of the conversation. I happen to love that role in live conversation as well.
2) Link: What a generous offer. I have a feeling you are going to be really busy reading and commenting on blogs posts!
Here are two for you to pick one from:
An old post when I was just getting started earlier in the year so it didn’t get many views. Wondering if this one is worth re-posting.

Or my most recent post…
http://randomactsofleadership.com/2009/08/30/why-we-dont-want-to-lead-i/
I chose these because they specifically illuminate the core principle/belief that my work and blog is based on: that anyone can lead and that leading can be simple.
1. My favorite part of the process is the writing part. I may not profess to be very good at it, but this is the space where I try to get better.
